Raised in the small historical town of Truckee, California located just outside of Lake Tahoe, Renee Garacochea became fascinated with the fashion and cosmetic industry. Her interests and ambitions took her south to Los Angeles in the summer of 1988 to pursue a career in fashion. Having worked for two years in fashion, her interest shifted to the cosmetic industry in 1991. She worked for several industry-leading cosmetic and perfume companies before accepting a position with Philip B. as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. At this position, Renee developed a keen understanding of the natural hair care business including product properties and compositions through extensive lab and market research. In the fall of 1996, Renee was looking for a career change, something entrepreneurial that she could call her own. At that time, she was introduced to a 2-month old chocolate Cocker Spaniel and fell instantly in love. She named her puppy Avo. As time progressed, Avo inspired Renee to procure quality pet products, she bought pet toys, leashes, pet care products, nothing out of the ordinary for a pet lover. However, she found that there was not a quality shampoo good enough out in the market for her Avo. Renee discovered that most pet shampoos were either too dangerous with a warning label: "Harmful To Humans And Domestic Animals", or they were just not effective. She also learned that not all pet shampoos have an ingredient list on the product. Rather than risk her much cherished Avo to such exposure she began an extensive research on essential oils and extracts. She found that human pH levels were similar to dog and cat pH levels. She also discovered that the utilization of essential oils and plant extracts benefit pets at even a higher level than humans. For example, when experimenting with Tea Tree Oil & Lavender Oil, Renee discovered the oil combination for pets coat and skin are excellent for repelling fleas, soothing hot spots, and for relieving dry itchy skin. For human hair and scalp it provides moisture, intense shine, body, and treats oily scalp. Her findings along with her background lead her to create "Fauna; Aromatherapy Hair Care For Pets & People." featuring a shampoo using the Tea Tree & Lavender Oils, a conditioner with Shea Butter & Lavender Oil, a detangling sheen with Orange & Lavender Oil, SPF 15 with Citronella & Eucalyptus and a babies shampoo with Marigold Petals & Lavender Oil. All the products possess active healing properties, as well as aromatherapeutic elements that heighten sensory stimulation yet soots and calms the soul; thus leaving you and your pet with the ultimate bathing experience every time. If It's Good Enough For Your Pet, It's Good Enough For You! |
